Peter Handstein is Recognized as the Most Socially Responsible Entrepreneur
Recently, Peter Handstein—President of Hape was recognized by a business commttee with an award for being one of the ten Most Socially Responsible Entrepreneurs in the Beilun Region.

Toy Donation in Qing Chuan
On April 23rd 2010, Hape donated 300,000RMB worth of toys to schools in the Qing Chuan region which was devastated by an earthquake in 2008. Peter Handstein, President of Hape International, and a delegation from the Beilun Government delivered the toys to the county where they were able to witness first hand the issues the recovering area now faces.
Besides, Hape has already established several schools in the poorest regions of rural China, and has plans to open a kindergarten this year and hopefully another new school in 2011. Hape’s commitment to help create a better future starts with the caring of our children and making sure every child has the chance to have fun, and learn.

The 61th Annual Nurnberg International Toys Fair
From Feb 4-9, 2010 Hape Internation proudly joined 2700 other exhibitors to display our products at the International Toy Fair in Nurnberg. This fair is the largest in the world, attracts over 76,000 visitors from 100 different countries on the search for exciting new products for their stores. Of the nearly 1 million products on display, Hape couldn’t feel more honored to win the 2010 “Creativity + Design” award presented by the fairs executive committee for our Organeco Blocks. This award is a tribute to our philosophy of creating, innovation, high quality, environmentally friendly products, that are loved by children around the world.
In our largest booth ever, Hape displayed 3 brands: Hape, Educo, and Hape Eco, together with our sister company, Beleduc. The beautiful booth design enticed both new and established customers to our wide selection of new and exciting products. The only difficulty was getting people to leave the booth at the end of the day.
2010 should be a very exciting year.

The 36th Annual Hong Kong Toys and Games Fair
From January 11 to January 14 2010 Hape exhibited at the Hong Kong Toys and Games Fair. One of the largest in the world, this fair is held in a 55,000 sq-m facility welcoming thousands of visitors and guests. Hape had its largest booth ever at this show and was awarded a prestigious 5 star rating, by the China Toy Association.
Hape showed 3 brands, including Hape, Hape Eco, and Educo. All the brands showed new and exciting products and generated a lot of interest from many of the people attending the show. People were particularly impressed with our mission to create fun toys in an environmentally friendly way, and were pleasantly surprised by how well we make this wish come true.

2009 Yiwu Forest Fair
From October 31 to November 3, Hape exhibited at China Yiwu Forest Fair held in Yiwu International Exhibition Center. We showed a series of bamboo toys from Brand Hape, which is of attractive design and unique functions. Mainly made of bamboo—the well-known eco-friendly material, combined with water color and advanced technology of solar energy, Hape products greatly matched with the theme of the fair—“forest products, healthy and modern”.
